Things You Should Know Before Buying A Used Car

By , January 27, 2010

There are a number of things you should consider before you buy a used car. It is imperative that the car you end up buying will be the right car for you and that you will be glad you bought it. For that reason it is essential that you completely check out the type of car you are considering buying to make sure it is a good car.

It is always a good idea to look up reviews and or feedback from customers about the car you want. That way you can get an idea about the safety standards of the car and how dependable it is. If you are looking for honest answers to any questions you may have or just to get genuine views on the car, then the best place to begin looking is on the forums.

You can also try to find out as much as you can about the seller. You can make contact directly with a dealer to see how they treat their customers and how willing they are to provide answers, plus you should make sure to find out about their reputation. While it is not as easy to check out the reputation of a private seller, you could always pose the question of why they want to sell the car. How they answer this question will give you an idea. If they seem reluctant to give you a definite answer, then maybe you should be wary of buying their car.

Taking a car for a test drive is an essential way to check out how you feel about it. That way you can also listen out for any rattles or creaks etc.

Taking a qualified mechanic with you will ensure that you are getting a professional opinion of whether the car is worth buying. If this is not possible, at least have someone with you who knows a bit about cars. This way you can be sure to get a great deal.

When you think it’s time to look out for used cars for sale, it’s always best to carry out a proper research ahead of time. Researching allows you to find the very best used cars for the category you are looking for. And when you finally finish your research, you could find yourself leaving the car delears with a splendid used mini or even a used nissan.

Choose A Fast Depreciating Used Car For A Great Bargain

By , January 27, 2010

Used car buyers should look out for cars that depreciate much quicker than others if they want to get a great bargain. The value of an Alfa Romeo 166 was just 12 percent of its original value after three years and 37,000 miles on the clock. This is not great for those who have bought this car from new but for used car buyers it is great news as the car is actually not a bad car. However the Alfa Romeo 166 was only produced between 2004 and 2006 so most of these will be virtually worthless now.

A list of the ten cars which depreciate the least and the ten which depreciate the most has been compiled by EurotaxGlass. Those who are looking to purchase a brand new car and those who prefer to buy used cars will find this list helpful. Although EurotaxGlass were keen to point out that some of those on the worst performing list were actually cars that were now obsolete. But for those wishing to buy a used car, the worst performing list could show up some great buys.

An example of one such great buy was the Rover 75 1.8T Comtemporary SE. Despite a brand new model costing £22,700, a three year old model with only 37,000 miles clocked up was valued at just £3,300. If you wanted a great car for another three years before trading it in for at least £1000 then the Rover 75 would be the perfect car to buy.

By doing your research you can really snap up a great bargain by looking for cars which are depreciating fast. A lot of these used cars have very misleading low prices as many of them are great runarounds. So don’t forget to check out that list before buying a used car.

When you think it’s time to look out for used cars for sale, you may end up much better off by thoroughly researching the cars that interest you. Good research lets you find only the best models available. Once you’ve finished, you could find youself driving away from the dealers in a used daimler or even a used dodge.

Keep These in Mind When Buying a Used Car

By , December 28, 2009

Purchasing a used car is very often a very clever thing to do. Buying a used car is not only cheaper than buying a new one, but the depreciation of used cars is much slower than new ones. This is why used cars are much better value than a new car. Everybody knows that a new car depreciates hugely as soon as the car is driven from the dealership.

When deciding to buy a used car, however, you will need to be a bit more savvy than you would normally have to be when purchasing a brand new vehicle. For a start, new cars are guaranteed to be accident free (obviously) and if there are any potential problems, then these would be covered by the warranty. But in saying that, nearly all used cars sold out of a dealership are guaranteed to be serviced and in great condition when you drive them away.

You may have seen the car you want and will be looking for that particular model. Nonetheless, there are a few things you have to be aware of before you make the decision to buy the used car you have earmarked. Some models and makes of cars are not as reliable as others and will not have a good reputation. So while it may look nice and stylish, its reliability may not be up to scratch. You should check out reviews on the car you want and look on the forums too where you will be able to read about first hand experiences of the advantages and disadvantages of this type of model.

Try to learn what the cars average value should be. You’ll know then not to pay over the odds for your car. Knowing these things will help you get the best used car for your budget.

For outstanding used cars, or a great used toyota or used Peugeot would it not be great to drive a modern car?
