Spread betting is one of the easiest ways to make money through trading on the Stock Market. Through spread betting you can definitely achieve massive losses but you can also gain massive wins. All you are doing is looking at the market and bet on which share price will go up or down.

For example:

Let’s say Rover has 500.0, now bet on what you think will happen in the future, so in this case if you bet £5 for the price to go down. So if the price does go down to 490.0 your winning would be £5 times the number of decreases which in this case is 10, so you win £50. Let’s say if you bet on the price to come up by £10 per point and if the price goes up to 505.0 then you will win £50, 5 points increase and you better £10 per point. There is no restriction on how much you can bet so you can bet as much as you want.

Now you know what spread betting is here are few advices:

Paper trading is a good way to start (real markets but fictional funds). Write everything down from buy and sell prices, stakes, the reasons and the trade dates. Use excel spreadsheet to record these datas because in the spreadsheet you can add more column in needed in the future.

Use some testing accounts. Few spread betting companies provide free accounts with thousands of virtual credits so you can test your betting skills. Even though you are just testing make sure you add those records in the spreadsheet. This way you will be able to keep track of your history of bets.

Make sure you use your head when betting and don’t listen to heart. The loss can be massive.

If you love your poker and bingo then spread betting is not for you.
