Retire overseas: Has Rush Limbaugh left for Costa Rica yet?
Not long ago the conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh threatened to move to Costa Rica if the health care bill would pass. So Rush, what’s keeping you? It’s time to move out and reinvent yourself in Costa Rica!
Amazing that someone like him would actually ponder a life outside of this country. He, a staunch conservative, self-professed super patriot, for whom nothing but America would ever be the promised land would in fact move to Costa Rica.
Must be he has visited there before, or consulted a Latin America map and just pointed to it at random. Perhaps he read a good book or got a CD on international living, perhaps even considered to retire in Panama, another retirement haven for Americans, as how otherwise would he ever get the idea to move to Costa Rica to begin with. I say, go Rush and stay there, and don’t ever come back!
I assume he would settle amidst his own kind. And a special bunch it is. One can run into many of his kind in Costa Rica, as well as Nicaragua and Panama, as one needs money these days to live in Costa Rica, especially if planning to buy piece of land with the view of the Pacific Ocean.
There are many arrogant American types over there that can care a less about Costa Rica, a Third World country though a long time democracy. For Limbaugh Costa Rica is where he can find that slice of his personal paradise, right there in a gated community behind electric fence with 24-hour security. He surely would not have it another way, he would not want to be bothered a bit by the poor and desperate and there are many of them in those countries. He would build his architectural digest style home and probably would still smother us with his hate using the web or satellite radio.
I wonder if Rush actually knows that Costa Ricans as well as many foreigners that gain residency in Costa Rica get excellent health care for some $60 per year! Yes, that is cheap and no one is turned down, they all have it and here in the good old USA, Rush and the Republicans would just as well have left the millions that have been without to their own misfortunate, why should they care, not their skin.
Let’s hope that the hate radio fat alcoholic Rush will leave but the lure of big bucks will likely keep him here indefinitely unless he dies of heart attack or a stroke first. Of course he can afford to get many a quadruple bypass and so we may likely be stuck with him for many years to come.
