Fingers Crossed, We’ve Started
I do not believe I must tell anybody that this economy is tricky and many people have been having a fairly tough time. I lost my position about four months back when the facility where I was working closed down 2 of their production lines and my bro in law, Barney got his pink slip last month when his company commented that they were closing the doors for good.
Both of us had spent a fair amount of time and energyattempting to find new jobs but with absolutely no success. However, we were clear on the fact that we continue to needed revenue to pay our bills and support our families so Barney and I decided to go into business for ourselves.
We had no clear concept on what this operation would be as my only real talent and experience was in manufacturing washing machines and Barney had worked as a quality control inspector at a candy plant. However, my young neighbor convinced us that rap music, rappers and that hip hop lifestyle was the hottest growth trend in our area today. Now I must admit that both Barney and I agree the entire’rapper scene’ is just plain foolish but if it makes cash then who are we to argue.
Somehow we decided to go after the jewellery segment of the hip hop market with the plan that we could start off rather small and just offer our stuff for sale at flea markets until we could afford to open a regular store. So, our next task was to find a wholesale bling bling outlet.
We quickly discovered that we had a major problem in that we were a new business with no track record and no credit history which implied that nobody would sell us any inventory apart from money. They were all very respectful to reassure us that credit terms would be possible after we were established but it was all going to be COD at the start. We started scrambling then to find a fast cash loan no credit check.
Well, we eventually got our financing together. Not particularly as much as we wanted but enough to at least buy some starter inventory and get the project rolling and we had also found some promising wholesale outlets that we believed we could deal comfortably with. However, none of these wholesale vendors was in out town so we were going to need to travel which meant making airline and hotel reservations.
Getting the airline reservations was very easy and most of the hotels now subscribe to some type of online booking engine that made dealing with them also pretty simple.
